Sssoooooo is this supposed to be a blank post, or...? I have a vague idea from other posts what's likely to happen, but I have very much appreciated the daily summaries!
ReplyDeleteNothing is written here. Please update with today’s outlook. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the updates! We appreciate it so much
ReplyDeleteOlympia is smokey, and smells like melted plastic.
ReplyDeleteIs there anywhere to escape the smoke this week in the PNW?
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty bad across most of the area. I think the www.airnow.gov map is a good resource to show current air quality conditions. Conditions do change, so please stay up to date on current air quality.
DeleteMy question is .. How long is Eastern Washington going to remain in smoke..
ReplyDeleteI understand no one is a fortune teller but are we looking at weeks?
In general you should expect a major clearing of smoke at the end of this week. Though there will be more smoke events this summer (hopefully nothing this bad). Keep in mind that the region around Pullman should in general continue to have much better air quality than the Spokane area. Expect more smoke impacts in Northeastern Washington through the coming weeks, due to nearby wildfire activity and predominant windflow patterns.

ReplyDeleteWe are expecting clearing on Thursday in you area. However, be on the lookout for continued intermittent smoke events since there are several wildfires around you.
DeleteWhy can you tell that the air will be clearing north of Seattle area by Thursday? What are is it about the weather forecast that lets you forecast that the smoke will be clearing out? Please add this to you Tuesday morning forecast if you can. Thank you, we all really appreciate your reports!!
ReplyDeleteThe strong winds from the west are expected Wednesday evening through Thursday. Clean air should be brought in from off-shore. Check out www.windy.com for a nice way to see how winds change over time.
DeleteHello, would anyone have the air quality index for Washington state last August 3rd 2017, Thank you ray.colby@makah.com
ReplyDeleteThe air quality index is site specific. There is no single AQI for the entire state. What area are you interested in?
DeleteWhat do the triangles represent?
ReplyDeleteThe triangles are temporary, portable air monitors deployed by the US Forest Service in areas experiencing major smoke events.
DeleteAny idea what Labor Day weekend looks like for Quincy?
ReplyDeleteToo early to tell. Check back in next week.
