Washington Smoke Map

*The map above is not able to display all state air quality monitors. Click here to see all monitors in Washington: WA Ecology Air Monitors

Note: Some users might notice intermittent discrepancies in colors shown on the map of air quality monitors above, and those reported on the Department of Ecology's official page. This is because Ecology believes their method of calculating the air quality category (i.e. “Good”, “Moderate”, Unhealthy” etc) is more protective of public health in Washington. If in doubt as to which better represents public health risk, use the more stringent of the two (i.e. the map showing worse air quality).

Manson Smoke Monitor Update (Smoke #65)

We have been having intermittent problems with the PM2.5 monitor located in Manson for a couple of days.  After several field attempts to fix the monitor, it now looks like I'll need to ship it to Seattle for repairs.  Good news - the monitor at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital is still running well.   Please refer to the data from the Chelan monitor (Smoke #24) for local air quality information.

  1. Thanks Kelly. How do I find smoke #24? Is there a webpage? or link? Thank you- keep up the good work!

    1. It's up an running on the Blog now but if it goes out again you can usually see the monitors here: http://airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=topics.smoke_wildfires Select the different layers from the Layers option to see Temp and permanent monitors and also forecasts for smoke plumes. Todays graphic is pretty good but it's definitely hitting Yakima more than the plume path would indicate.

  2. Currently none of the temporary monitors are showing up on the map but that is where you will find them when we figure out what's going on with the display. I believe they are still taking readings but it's a matter of getting the info to the Smoke Blog.
Also the Wenatchee Air Monitor is down but there is a technician on site working on it. Until they are online use the visual reference from the earlier posting from Chelan/Douglas Health District.
